LVEB ( Luis Vallejo Estudio de Bonsai ) and the MBA ( Museo del Bonsai Alcobendas )
When I finished studying bonsai in Japan, I had to find a place and job to continue my passion and profession. I never wanted to do bonsai business and live from selling bonsai, pots, tools and etc. My dream was to work on bonsai, maintain trees and teach bonsai abroad. Not easy indeed.
In 2008 I contacted many bonsai museums around the world, US, Australia, Germany … and tried to apply for a job. Many of them replied that the position was not available or that my skills were too high to keep me busy … really ? I could not believe it!
The only one which said yes and gave me a chance to do a one month trial was Luis Vallejo, Curator of Museo del Bonsai in Alcobendas, Madrid.
Marissa and I moved to Spain so I could trial in the museum and find a new life. We moved to Spain as well because one of my friends Patxi from Bonsai Pavia helped us a lot at the beginning and he also moved all my bonsai trees from Japan to Spain. Big thanks Patxi, will never forget it !
After my one month trial, Luis accepted me and offered a permanent job at the museum. Since then, the museum has become my bonsai home.
The bonsai museum in Alcobendas is one of the best outside of Japan. Designed and owned by Luis, it has a spectacular collection of a wide range of tree species. Every two years, the museum holds the most important exposition of bonsai in Spain. It is a place that every bonsai enthusiast should visit at least once in their lives.
LVEB is the most important supporter of BonsaiMotorWorld, taking a very important part in my Spain to Japan trip !
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
When I moved to Spain, I was also lucky to be able to continue my profession because of the support of Laos Garden and Medi Bonsai, amongst others. And later, the huge support of Studio Bonsai Momiji from Belgium. Of course also thank you to all of my students and friends … without all of you the bonsaimotorworld saga will never begin !
I am very grateful that I continue to have bonsai work.
Gracias a todos!
